CFPri25 12
Middlesbrough vs QPR Date: Friday 20th November Kick Off: 19:45 Venue: Riverside Setting: First game back after the proverbial dullness of the international [simply in football terms], the return of competitive Championship action is welcomed with open arms. Boro had been in flying form in the build up to the break before coming crashing back down to earth with a comprehensive defeat at the hands of, now top of the table, Hull. Another game against a newly relegated side awaits with Boro looking to get back on track. QPR have recently sacked Chris Ramsey and currently have the so called championship specialist Neil Warnock as interim head coach on an extended basis. Will he had had time to work his 'magic' on this QPR side? Recent Form: Boro: WWWWL Hull 3-0 Boro Boro 1-0Rotherham Boro 3-0 Charlton Man Utd 0-0p Boro Wolves 1-3 Boro QPR: DWLLD QPR 0-0 Preston Derby 1-0 QPR Brentford 1-0 QPR QPR 3-0 MK Dons QPR 0-0 Sheff Wed Boro are definitely in better form and it was that of QPR that finally brought forth the axe for Chris Ramsay. However, any momentum is always hindered by the international break and it gives others time to regroup. QPR are a good team and Boro will definitely have to play well to get something from this game. That said, Boro definitely go into this match as the favourites. What do the Bookies Say? Boro win: 8/13 Draw: 13/5 QPR win: 9/2 *As of Wednesday 18th November. For live odds with Paddy Power, CLICK HERE. View from the Other Side: Unfortunately, it's been a struggle to find an actual match day thread on any of their multitude of forums. I will keep searching and get back to you once I unearth something. I liked the look of him when he first joined, he was nowhere near the finished article but clearly displayed a decent level of the common continental keeper traits. Since he has been at the club, he has clearly worked on all aspects of his game that have been exposed by the style of English football, especially in the Championship. In the games he has played this season, I think he has looked very good and I think he deserves his [second] chance. Dimi is a decent keeper but last season, and once or twice this, his relative limited quality has been exposed. He is not comfortable with the ball at his feet which hinders the team's ability to play out from the back and, although I presume many will use this same argument against Mejias, is prone to some calamitous nature. This is not to say that I think Dimi is a bad keeper and he has definitely been a wonderful player for the club whose attitude has been extraordinary. However, I simply feel he's not a top Championship keeper. Really, the rest of the team speaks for itself bar the exclusion of Fabbrini who I would bring on off the bench. Stuani may not be 100% match fit but I think he should start. Predition: I'm confidant in Boro's ability to win this game and am therefore going for a 2-0 home win with goals from Stuani and Adomah. Talking Points? As we've recently had the International break, we have therefore exacerbated the current topics of discussion but, here goes: - Mejias - Are Boro as good as we, the fans, think we are? - As we close in on the transfer window, are there any areas you think we could strengthen? Or any players you would like to see the back of? - Do QPR's hooped shirts make their players look fat?

Borodane 6,297
- Mejias. Dimi doesn't deserve to be dropped. - Are Boro as good as we, the fans, think we are? I think Hull was a reality check, but we are certainly good enough to stake a claim for automatic promotion. - As we close in on the transfer window, are there any areas you think we could strengthen? Or any players you would like to see the back of? Striker or another RW if Stuani is moved up front/centrally - Do QPR's hooped shirts make their players look fat? Everybody looks fat i horizontal lines.

teapot 4
Mejias is pants. Bamford and Pritchard please. Plenty of fringe players can be moved on. Horizontal stripes make people look slimmer, don't you watch QI?

Humpty 3,260
Meijas? Have you been drinking? I think i'd rather play him up front. I think we'll play the same formation with a similar team selection. You might see Downing through the middle (i hope we see Downing through the middle). I don't think anything will change as we've been getting results at home, albeit by the skin of our teeth at times.

I don't think anything will change as we've been getting results at home, albeit by the skin of our teeth at times. and for that reason i'm not really looking forward to this game. Feeling a little worried / apprehensive that we aren't learning from mistakes. Could easily be a home loss this game, QPR have some decent firepower.
Tom 2,492
We tend to go with Nsue at home, which I'm happy with. I know some people aren't keen on him, but I like what he offers going forward. I think Stuani will start on the bench, as will Fabbrini, and Downing will play through the middle with Albert and de Pena either side. I assume Nugent will start having not heard any further news about his niggle. I also expect to see Gibson back in. I don't think Amorebieta was particularly culpable at Hull, but the fact he's had a tear himself, coupled with the fact Gibson's looked much stronger since he came back in at Old Trafford, make me think that we'll see last season's CB pairing back for the foreseeable future. "KM" 1,656
Finally some proper football, gerrin. No more I/B's until March! We normally put on a show in front of the Sky cameras so I'm going for a convincing 3-0 win to get back on track after the Hull horror show. Stuani likely to be back but would you start him or bring him on from the bench? I'd be tempted to 'rest' him, give him the last half hour and get him 100% fit Huddersfield. Even without him I still think we'll have too much for a poor QPR side. So I'd go with Dimi, Nsue, Ayala, Gibson, Friend, Clayton, Leadbitter, Adomah, Downing, De Pena, Nugent
Humpty 3,260
Stuani won't arrive back from Uruguay until tomorrow so i'd be very surprised if he started given jet lag, lack of match practise and no match prep/team shape work.
Humpty 3,260
That's my team KM but i'd substitute Reach for De Pena.

"KM" 1,656
That's my team KM but i'd substitute Reach for De Pena. I think De Pena and Reach are very similar from what I've seen of De Pena so far. Now is the time for De Pena to step up and show us why he's been brought in at the expense of Wildschut and Reach.
