RF08 - 140 years of MFC.

Recommended Posts

During our opening game of the season against Stoke, there was a display within Block 62 to commemorate and celebrate thirty years since Steve Gibson helped to save the club that we love from going out of business. This display was partly funded by donations from the wider support of MFC that were made during the close season and every single member of Red Faction would like to take the chance to thank everyone who made a contribution towards that display. To see our work and support valued to the point that people were prepared to hand over their hard earned money, especially in an area like ours that is always on edge economically, was truly appreciated.

With that in mind, we would again like to appeal for support and donations for what we're hoping to be our biggest display yet. For the game against Watford on the 16th of October, RF08 are looking to create a full stand display across the entirety of the Boys End to celebrate 140 years since the birth of MFC as a way to celebrate this stunning milestone in the club's history. After costing up materials, we're looking at an outlay of £3000 to pull off our idea. As always, RF08 members will be raising money ourselves from group funds, personal donations and fundraising but even then, we may fall short of our target. We're hoping that the Boro support can once again show their fantastic generosity and help us out via donations, no matter how big or small. Every single penny is appreciated. You can donate towards this display through www.gofundme.com/redfaction or through PayPal by making a

Thanks Curtis, every penny raised will go straight into this display. The support from the wider fan base is vital and greatly appreciated.

Changing, as independent fans we dont accept money from the club and in the past have politely turned it down. Our displays have always been fan funded, for the fans, by the fans.

Nice piece in the Gazette  yesterday. Almost at our original target. If each view on this thread alone equalled as little as £1 we would smash it.

To see the fan base come together like this should make everyone proud.

RF08 would like to thank everybody for their donations towards the 140 Anniversary display. We've hit our original online target through the gofundme page.

Given the feedback we have received, we'll be keeping the donation page open (see link below) as the more money we can put towards the display, the bigger and better it will be. Donation can also be made directly by using the friends option on PayPal and sending it to redfaction08payments@gmail.com. After reaching our online target we are looking to raise funds using different methods, with this in mind we will have collection buckets at turnstiles 62-66 and 67-71, the Boys End concourse, in Block 62 and underneath the bridge as you come towards the stadium tomorrow against Spurs.

We genuinely cannot thank each and every one of you enough for your donations and support. Seeing the Boro support come together like this is humbling and inspiring. As The Boys End grows it is rapidly becoming a talking point for fans of other teams across the country and this would not be possible without your constant support. We're all helping to completely change the face of fan culture at this football club and in this country.

We can't wait to show the entire world exactly what this football club is made of and stands for, all one hundred and forty years of it
