Shearer and Windass on Jordan Rhodes
Alan Shearer and Dean Windass are predicting Jordan Rhodes will fire Boro to promotion.
According to the former Newcastle United striker and manager, Jordan Rhodes has the capability to fire Boro back to the Premier League this season.
Speaking to Coral, Shearer says "when you look at his goalscoring record, it would suggest he could score 10-15 goals from now until the end of the season which would probably be enough to get them promoted."
Talking about the £9 million signing, Shearer goes on to say "they (Boro) want a slice of the pie next season. It’s a lot of money to spend on a Championship player but he will guarantee you goals at that level."
Having scored 12 goals in 29 appearances so far this season, former Boro striker Dean Windass believes "if he gets chances at the Riverside, then hopefully he can be the final (piece of the jigsaw) and hopefully they can get promotion."
- Is Britt Assombalonga’s time at Middlesbrough coming to an end?
- Lewis Wing’s future at Middlesbrough uncertain
"He is not so much a player outside the box. His movement is very good. He's not got blistering pace, he is not quick, but his movement is very good."
"They've got Nugent haven't they and they lost Bamford. I think they were going for (Ross) McCormack but he declined and they went for Jordan."
With 16 Championship fixtures remaining, can Rhodes grab the goals that take Boro back to the Premiere League?
