Season Preview - Millwall

After gaining promotion back to the Championship, there's a buzz at Millwall as the new season approaches.

Season Preview - Millwall

“There is a huge buzz around the club at the moment (naturally of course after promotion)” said Millwall fan Stephen.

“I’ve been supporting Millwall for over 20 years now and I’ve never seen as much excitement for the new season quite like this one and I believe we can cause quite a few upsets this year.”

When asked which position he thinks Millwall will finish, Stephen said “if you offered anyone at the club 21st place right now they’d all take it - me included.”

“But with the signings we’ve made and if we can keep the squad relatively injury free I can’t see why we couldn’t aim for around mid-table.

Speaking about which players will be key for the club this season, he said “Shaun Williams and Steve Morison.”

“Possibly being slightly biased but Shaun Williams was one of the best central midfielders in League 1 last season - when he plays well, we look a better side and when he’s been missing, you can see the drop in quality in the midfield.”

“Steve Morison grabbed all the headlines last season and quite simply was incredible. If he can replicate anywhere near the level of performances from last season, we’ll score goals and cause teams huge problems.”

Finally, when asked which fixtures Millwall fans are looking forward to Stephen said "there's so many to choose from with the sheer size of clubs in the division but the game I looked for first was Leeds at Home."

"In recent history we've had some real battles with Leeds United and the atmosphere at The Den each time they visit is incredible."
