Boro agree professional contract with Isaac Fletcher
Middlesbrough have secured the future of emerging talent Isaac Fletcher by agreeing the 18-year-old's first professional contract at the club.
Fletcher's performances at Under-23 level have created quite an impression especially among the coaching team in the last few weeks, with the midfielder having bagged a hat-trick against Sunderland and added another goal in a 3-0 win over Burnley.
His outstanding displays resulted in him being nominated for October's Player of the Month award in the Premier League 2, and is sure to have attracted interest from elsewhere.
As a result, Boro have moved quickly to tie down the player, who first joined the club's academy at the age of 10 and was a member of the Under-14 squad that won national honours in 2016.
Fletcher will be expected to take it up from here to the next level as he develops in his career. It is expected that the versatile player will have time to focus on his duties on the field after his recent deal with the club.
