Boro and Wrexham Linked With Dutch Winger Sontje Hansen

Middlesbrough FC have been linked with a move for Sontje Hansen from NEC Nijmegen.

Middlesbrough FC are emerging as frontrunners to sign Sontje Hansen from NEC Nijmegen.

The 23-year-old Dutchman has attracted interest from several clubs, including Championship rivals Wrexham and Danish champions FC Copenhagen, but Middlesbrough's pursuit appears to be the most serious at this stage.

Voetball International suggest the club have initiated discussions with NEC Nijmegen regarding Hansen, although no formal bid has been lodged yet. 

They also report that Middlesbrough's interest is more substantial than that of other contenders, including Wrexham, who are backed by Hollywood celebrities, and FC Copenhagen.

Hansen, a product of Ajax's youth academy, first gained recognition as the top scorer at the 2019 U17 World Cup.
