Boro Beat Barrow 2-1
Middlesbrough beat Barrow 2-1 in the FA Cup, with both Boro goals coming from Afonso Alves.
Boro started the game with Stewart Downing as a striker alongside Afonso Alves.
With 22 minutes played, Afonso Alves opened the scoring. Downing played a through ball to Alves, setting him clear through the middle. Alves did well to beat the Barrow keeper placing the ball into the bottom right corner.
Jeremie Aliadiere was stretchered off during the first half, he was replaced with Mavin Emnes.
Boro's second goal came after 62 minutes. Downing crossed from the right, setting up Alves who rose high at the back post to head back across Barrow keeper, Martin.

From Barrow's second corner of the game, Jason Walker was unmarked and he headed past Brad Jones.
