Boro Drop 3 Points Away To Blackburn

Middlesbrough FC were denied 3 points away at Ewood Park, after conceding in the 93rd minute.

Boro had taken the lead through Tuncay Sanli in the first half with an excellent over head kick, however the goal was wrongly ruled out as the assistant referee flagged for offside.

Boro did take the lead on 74 minutes through Afonso Alves. The Brazilian did well to control the bouncing ball and after a neat turn, the striker fired the ball past Paul Robinson from 18 yards out.

Blackburn equalised in the last minute from a corner kick. Unmarked striker, Benni McCarthy rose well from the edge of the 6 yard box and headed powerfully past Ross Turnbull.
