Boro in three-way race for Oxford United defender
Middlesbrough are locked in a three-way battle for Oxford United defender Rob Dickie according to the Mirror.
The young defender has been one of the most impressive players for the U’s this season as they look to gain promotion to the Championship.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs interested in his services.
There is growing speculation that this could be Rob Dickie's last season at Oxford United. According to the report, Reading have indicated interest with the Royals keen on reuniting with the defender who came through the youth ranks at the club.
Promotion chasing Fulham have also been touted as a potential transfer for Dickie, with Scott Parker a big fan of the player. Boro are also mentioned in the report from the Mirror, having made checks on the defender
Jonathan Woodgate will be expected to bring in players as the club currently have seven players in the last month of their contracts. Dickie could be the ideal replacement for Dael Fry who is reportedly wanted by several clubs.
Dani Ayala has also been linked with a move away from Boro in the summer transfer window, when his contract expires. Boro are facing a financial dilemma when it comes to offering Ayala a new contract and it's likely he will be forced to take a pay cut to stay at the Riverside.
