Boro Intensify Bid for Arfsten from Columbus Crew
Middlesbrough FC are stepping up their pursuit of USA international Max Arfsten, with a £2.25 million bid submitted to Columbus Crew.
Middlesbrough FC are ramping up their transfer activity with a bid for USA international wing-back Max Arfsten from Columbus Crew.
According to Teesside Live, Middlesbrough's offer for Arfsten is estimated at around £2.25 million. Columbus Crew have yet to respond to the proposal, but they previously rejected a bid from French side Toulouse, highlighting the seriousness of Middlesbrough's interest in the 24-year-old defender.
Middlesbrough first identified Arfsten while scouting his teammate Aidan Morris and have been monitoring his progress closely over the past year. The defender has emerged as a key player for the USA national team during their Gold Cup campaign.
Last season, Arfsten netted five goals and provided seven assists, and he has continued his impressive form this season, contributing four goals and three assists as Columbus Crew currently sit in fourth place in the MLS standings.

Middlesbrough's transfer strategy is closely tied to the potential sale of Hayden Hackney. The ability to pursue new signings, including another forward, heavily relies on the revenue generated by Hackney’s possible departure.
