Boro join West Brom and Norwich City in the race for Newcastle United midfielder
Middlesbrough have joined a host of clubs in the race for Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff, who is finding playing time difficult to come by.
Longstaff could only play five Premier League matches for Newcastle United last season, after falling out of favour with manager Steve Bruce.
After an impressive debut season in the 2019/2020 season, Longstaff would have expected to be a regular starter, but the reverse is the case as the 21-year-old may now need to go on loan to get more playing time.
Middlesbrough have joined clubs such as Norwich City, West Brom, and Belgian side Anderlecht in the race for the player in the summer transfer window.

Boro manager Neil Warnock has recently stated that he wants a midfielder, perhaps Longstaff could be the solution to what he is looking for. It remains to be seen where the 21-year-old will end up playing next season.
