Boro Reject FC Porto's Second Bid for Hayden Hackney
Middlesbrough FC have turned down a second offer from FC Porto for midfielder Hayden Hackney.
Boro have firmly rejected a second bid from Portuguese club FC Porto for Hayden Hackney. Reports from Inside Futbol indicate that the latest offer, estimated at around £10 million, was turned down as the 22-year-old is viewed as an essential asset for the club, particularly in light of increasing interest from several Premier League teams.
The initial approach from Porto came last week in the form of a verbal proposal, which Middlesbrough swiftly dismissed. Following this, the Portuguese side submitted a formal offer in an attempt to persuade the club to part with Hackney.
However, club sources have confirmed that this latest bid has also been declined, with Middlesbrough reiterating their commitment to retaining the midfielder.
As the transfer window nears its conclusion, it remains to be seen whether Porto will make a further attempt to secure Hackney’s services.
