Boro Target Glen Kamara for Midfield Reinforcement
Middlesbrough FC are exploring a loan deal for Glen Kamara as they seek to strengthen their midfield options in the January transfer window.
Boro have identified Glen Kamara, a former midfielder for Leeds United, as a potential target.
According to a report from The Northern Echo, Kamara, who moved to Rennes last summer for a fee exceeding £8 million, has recently found himself on the sidelines following the appointment of Jorge Sampaoli as head coach in November.
The 29-year-old has not started a match for the Ligue 1 side since mid-November, leading to speculation that Rennes may be open to a departure during this transfer window.
Interest in the Finnish international is not limited to Middlesbrough; Premier League clubs such as Southampton and Ipswich Town, along with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
Middlesbrough are particularly interested in securing Kamara on a loan deal, contingent on the circumstances being favourable. However, he is not the only midfielder under consideration, as the club are reportedly exploring a range of options to bolster their midfield.
