Boro yet to make a formal move for Sunderland forward
Charlie Wyke's current deal at Sunderland will end this summer, however, of the clubs interested in signing him there has been no official approach.
Wyke finished last season with 31 goals in all competitions, but this could not help Sunderland secure promotion to the Championship after losing to Lincoln City in the playoffs.
Wyke's proficiency in front of goal has seen him attract interest from a series of Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, and Cardiff City.
However, reports have it that of these, none of them have made a formal attempt to contact him for a potential move in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland will hope they can convince the 28-year-old to remain at the club, but it could be difficult to get him to sign a new deal considering that he is also attracting interest from Celtic and CSKA Moscow.
