Carrick plans for long term solutions in the January Transfer Window

Michael Carrick prioritises long-term goals over quick fixes in the upcoming transfer window.

Carrick remains committed to building for the future despite injury concerns and international commitments affecting the squad.

According to The Northern Echo, in order to address their ongoing injury concerns, Middlesbrough FC manager, Michael Carrick, has affirmed the club will not seek quick fixes in the January transfer window.

Despite having a number of players ruled out due to long-term injuries and international commitments, Carrick remains committed to the club's long-term vision and strategy for signings.

Carrick stressed the importance of considering the bigger picture when it comes to signing new players. The signings this month will not be temporary fixes to the current injury crisis but rather additions that align with the club's long-term plans.

In recent years, Boro have focused on building for the future, and Carrick wants to keep that focus even in challenging circumstances.

Carrick said, "It's got to fit. It's not a 'knee-jerk' and not one because we have got an injury here or an injury there. It's for the bigger picture, really, and it wouldn't be a quick fix until the end of the season. It's got to fit into the plan, and it is what it is."

"If we are looking to do something, we want to try and get it done as quickly as we can."

“Of course, we do for different reasons. We understand how it works. It is not always in our hands and not always straightforward, so there's a bit of patience about it.”

“But for sure, if we are trying to do something, we'd like to get it done sooner rather than later."

While immediate reinforcements might be beneficial, Carrick's focus on the bigger picture shows his belief in the players at his disposal and his determination to navigate the ongoing challenges in the season.
