Charlton Athletic hold talks with Middlesbrough target over staying at the club
The race to sign Chuks Aneke is still on, and Middlesbrough, Reading, and QPR are still keen on signing the 27-year-old.
Charlton Athletic manager Nigel Adkins has revealed he had talks with Chuks Aneke on Tuesday in his bid to ensure the former Arsenal graduate remains at the club.
Aneke's current deal at the club expires in the next few days, and it has become a worry for Charlton trying to convince him that he still has a future with the League One side.
Adkins remains hopeful that they can renew his deal after holding talks with him.
"We talk about Ben Amos, Chuks Aneke, and Adam Matthews, there have been contract negotiations going backward and forwards. I know there has been a lot of interest in the three of them because they are good players," Adkins said.
"We'll have to wait and see."
"For example, I spoke to Ben and Chuks yesterday. They know I want them at the football club. The players have to make a decision and the agents make a decision for the finances as well. It is the way it is, let’s not hide about it."
