Chelsea Beat Boro 2-0

Chelsea Beat Boro 2-0

Two second half goals from Salomon Kalou saw off a hard fought game against Boro.

Boro made 4 changes from the winning FA Cup team with Turnbull replacing Jones, Taylor replaced by Tony McMahon, Emanuel Pogatetz replacing Tuncay and Marlon King making his Boro debut for Afonso Alves.

Boro frustrated the Chelsea, with the home side having limited chances.

However the second half saw the introduction of Didier Drogba who looked lively from second half kick off.

Two corners proved costly for Boro. After 57 minutes a Chelsea corner was half cleared to Salomon Kalou who volleyed in well, from just inside the area.

Chelsea's second goal came in the 80th minute, when a corner was mis-judged by Ross Turnbull leaving a free header for Kalou.
