Club finally hit right note with fans!

With six decisive games left of the Premier League campaign it finally looks like Boro and the supporters are all pulling in the right direction in the battle to avoid relegation.

There has been sniping from Gareth Southgate at the fans’ reaction to certain performances over the course of the campaign, Steve Gibson has had to publicly defend his manager when fans were baying for blood and there was even a case of the safety officer issuing letters telling a section of the support to keep the noise down!

However with both sides now realising that squabbling, infighting and protestations are not the answer, everyone is coming together hopefully in the nick of time to stave off the dreaded drop!

The ‘Hull of a Deal’ worked a treat with season card holders being able to purchase up to ten tickets at an equivalent cost of £20 for every two purchased. A vociferous crowd of over 30,000 roared the boys on to a much-needed 3-1 win against Hull City on Saturday to ignite the flames of hope.

Southgate and the players quickly acknowledged the impact the fans had on creating a winning atmosphere. And the key is to ensure it remains the same when Fulham arrive in town this coming weekend.

Sure enough, the club have come up trumps with the ‘Ful House’ offer with the same prices involved as the Hull game.

Hopefully it will get a good few thousand fans who have been priced out of going to matches back involved and even entice those pub watchers back now the number of hostelries showing live coverage of all home games has dwindled dramatically.

Three points against the Cottagers will certainly blow the relegation battle wide open and bring fans and players even closer together!

Whether it is all enough to see us escape the drop remains to be seen, but it's a safe football prediction to make that improved relations can only bode well for the future!
