Former Boro defender hints at desire to make return

St Etienne defender Harold Moukoudi talks about his experience of playing for Boro in the Championship.

Moukoudi joined Boro on loan in the January transfer window and made eight appearances for the Championship club, putting in some solid performances. He returned to St Etienne after his temporary loan extension expired.

A return to the Riverside Stadium didn't materialise during the summer transfer window, however, it seems the 22-year-old still holds fond memories of his time with the club.

Speaking about his spell at Boro in an interview with French outlet But! Football Club, Moukoudi said, "It was very useful for me."

"I was able to play often. I was attracted by England and I served all of that at Boro!"

"Woodgate trusted me. He said many good things about me. Coming from an ex-international like him, it touched me."

"He helped me regain my trust and I thank him for it."

When asked about which aspects he liked in England, Moukoudi added "Everything. The atmosphere. The stadiums. The game. Over there, pretty much no one sits back."

"It’s very attacking. Everyone can beat everyone in the Championship."

"When we welcomed Leeds, who were beating everyone, we weren’t favourites, but we only lost 1-0 after playing a great game. All the games are close. It’s vicious!"

It seems Moukoudi's experience from his time at Middlesbrough was enough to make the prospect of a return to the club appealing for him.
