Hayden Coulson’s future at Middlesbrough uncertain
Hayden Coulson has found playing time hard to come by at Middlesbrough, and his future may lie somewhere else.
Hayden Coulson featured in midfield for Boro in the 1-1 draw against Watford in their last match as he came on to replace Sam Morsy, who was substituted due to an injury. Apart from that, he has generally struggled to get playing time.
After featuring in midfield, Warnock said “we had to put Hayden in midfield and he’s never played there in his life.”
“He does so well in training in that type of situation - tight areas with bodies around him. He’s the best player at the club in training in those tight situations.”
With Warnock looking to address the squad ahead of next season, he may turn to Coulson to play in a new position.
“We thought, why not give him a go at number ten. This opportunity came today.”
“We didn’t have many options, but it was a good time to let him have a look at that position.”
With time running out this season he might not get the chance he needs with Neil Warnock's side, having found playing time hard to come by this season.
