American forward Matthew Hoppe is reportedly on the verge of finalising a transfer to a top-flight club in Denmark, according to Teesside Live.
Hoppe, who joined Boro in the summer of 2022, experienced a challenging spell that ultimately led to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, which still had 18 months remaining.
During his time at Boro, Hoppe featured in just six matches, failing to secure a regular starting position.

Reflecting on his departure, Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick stated, "I think it was right for both of us and we wish him all the best. In the end, it didn't quite work for him here as he would have hoped. He had all the right intentions but it's just one of those things. We wish him all the best with the next step of his career and hope he has a really successful one."
