Michael Carrick Affirms Isaiah Jones's Role at Middlesbrough Amid Transfer Speculation
Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that Isaiah Jones remains a key part of the team's plans, despite speculation about his potential departure in the January transfer window.
Michael Carrick has firmly stated that Isaiah Jones remains an integral part of his plans at Middlesbrough, dispelling speculation regarding the winger's potential departure in the January transfer window.
Reports from Teesside Live suggest that the recent loan signing of Ben Doak has limited Jones's opportunities this season. Since Doak's arrival at the end of September, Jones has made just one starting appearance, although he has consistently contributed as a substitute in all but five of Middlesbrough's Championship matches.
This week, Football League World reported that Jones is eager for regular playing time and may contemplate leaving the club when the transfer window opens.
In addressing questions about the possibility of Jones's exit, Carrick remarked, “There are reports on quite a lot... nothing has changed from my perspective. He's part of the squad. I know he hasn't played as much as he'd like to but there's no change from my point of view.”
“It doesn't change the way we treat the players. It's important to understand that it's not just because you're playing you're important. Every player has a role to play and that's part of being in a good squad and good team.”
“We keep pushing every individual to get better. Sometimes you'll be in the team, sometimes you might not be. That's the nature of being competitive.”
As Middlesbrough approach the January transfer window, the club are open to strengthening their squad if suitable opportunities arise, although they are not under immediate pressure to make changes.

Due to league registration regulations, any new signings would require the departure of existing players, as the squad is currently at its limit.
