Middlesbrough Consider Loan Deal for Anfernee Dijksteel Amid Millwall Interest

Boro are contemplating a loan deal for defender Anfernee Dijksteel, with Millwall showing interest as the transfer window deadline approaches.

Middlesbrough FC are reportedly contemplating a loan deal for defender Anfernee Dijksteel, following interest from Millwall.

As the transfer window approaches its deadline, the club are open to discussions regarding Dijksteel’s potential departure, as reported by Teesside Live and initially reported by the South London Press.

The 28-year-old right-back has emerged as a target for Millwall, where director of football Steve Gallen is familiar with Dijksteel from their time together at Charlton Athletic. This prior relationship could facilitate negotiations between the two clubs.

With Dijksteel's contract set to expire at the end of the season, Boro are willing to consider a transfer if the financial terms are agreeable. Middlesbrough will only sanction Dijksteel's transfer if they can secure a suitable replacement.

Interest in Dijksteel extends beyond Millwall, with previous enquiries turned down over the summer due to concerns regarding Tommy Smith's injury. Since joining Middlesbrough from Charlton in 2019, Dijksteel has made 137 appearances for the club.
