Middlesbrough interested in Sheffield United defender
Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in Sheffield United defender Kieron Freeman.
Reports from the local media claims that the club have expressed interest in taking the 27-year-old on loan for the rest of the season.
Freeman has fallen down the pecking order at Sheffield United this season with the defender yet to feature in the Premier League. He has made just three appearances which have come in cup competitions.
Middlesbrough are thought to be monitoring the defender as they look for reinforcements following a mini injury crisis in defence.
At the moment Dael Fry is the only fit first team defender, with Jonny Howson and Paddy McNair deputising as make shift centre-backs.
In addition, Jonathan Woodgate revealed that defensive absentees, Daniel Ayala, Ryan Shotton and George Friend are still weeks from full recovery.
Kieron Freeman is also said to be interested in a move from Bramall Lane as he seeks to make the Wales squad for Euro 2020.
Boro face a stiff race for his signature as it is understood that there are several Championship clubs interested in the defender.
