Middlesbrough looking to swoop for Rangers winger
Middlesbrough are reportedly eyeing a move for Rangers winger Jordan Jones according to reports.
The Daily Mail claims that Rangers are ready to offload Jones to free up funds for new signings.
This has attracted a host of Championship sides with Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, and Boro showing interest in the player.
Jones is pacey and has good crossing abilities but has struggled in his time at Ibrox.
Boro manager Jonathan Woodgate views the 24-year-old as the ideal cover for Patrick Roberts.
Roberts, who is on-loan from Manchester City, recently suffered a hamstring injury which leaves the club short in his position.
It is understood that Boro would prefer a loan deal for Jones but Rangers could be demanding a permanent January transfer.
Jones is not the only attacker linked with a move to the Riverside Stadium from Scotland. Dundee United forward Lawrence Shankland has also been touted as a possible transfer in recent weeks.
The forward has impressed scoring 28 goals this season and Boro could make a late move for the Scotland international.
Dundee are reluctant to sell due to their promotion aspirations and Boro would have to splash the cash to make this deal happen.
