Middlesbrough must start winning says Woodgate
Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has warned his side that they need to start winning games quickly.
Boro suffered a defeat to basement side Barnsley which has seen them drop to within three points of the relegation spots.
Barnsley played rugged and deserved to win with Conor Chaplin scoring the decider in a windy afternoon at Oakwell.
Woodgate has to be concerned with the level of performances put forward by his team despite the reinforcements in the January transfer window.
They have lost back to back games to teams below them and are currently in free fall.
Speaking after the match, Woodgate admits that with 12 games left they need to start picking up points.
“There’s 12 games to go and we need to start winning games sharpish,” he said.
Woodgate, however, believes that the club has enough experience to pull through this difficult patch.
“I’ve got experienced players in that dressing room who I’m sure will turn it around, I have no doubt about that.”
The fixture list grows difficult as Boro next face promotion chasing Leeds United on Wednesday and would need to be at their best to get a result.

Boro have not won since beating Preston North End on New Year’s day and the pressure is firmly on Jonathan Woodgate to turn things around.
