Middlesbrough set to miss out on Sunderland forward after failing to make a bid
Reports suggested Middlesbrough were interested in signing Sunderland forward Charlie Wyke, however, it seems Boro are set to miss out on him after failing to make a move for him.
Wyke scored 26 goals for Sunderland in League One last season, leading them to the play-offs. However, the Black Cats failed to secure promotion to the Championship after losing to Lincoln City.
According to reports a host of clubs are interested in signing the 28-year-old, and one of the notable ones is Scottish side Celtic.
Boro are in serious need of new strikers as they look to fight for Premier League promotion next season, but reports have it that the club are yet to submit an offer to Wyke's representatives.
