OneBoro Is The Message!

Middlesbrough FC will kick off football's national week of 'One Game, One Community' as part of the annual Kick it Out campaign to celebrate the cultural diversity of the national game.

A 'ONE BORO' message will be displayed in the North stand where 7000 red and white cards will be held up by Boro fans.

Coordinated by Kick it Out, the week of action is now a firm fixture in the calendar as part of the game's ongoing contribution to celebrate diversity and inclusion.

Over 1,000 events are taking place across the country, involving all 92 professional clubs, grassroots teams, community groups and fans.

Middlesbrough FC and its players are again nailing their flag to their mast with a high-profile stance against racism.

In a highly visible show of support, Boro players will front the anti-racism message by wearing T-shirts during the warm-up to the game sporting the message 'One Game, One Community' alongside the Kick it Out logo.

Over 700 Riverside stewards, turnstile operators, catering and administrative staff will be wearing 'One Game, One Community' badges at the Chelsea game.

Ball boys will display a giant Kick it Out flag on the pitch during the build-up to the match, while a steel band from the town's Abingdon Road School will perform outside the stadium before the kick-off.

Details of the club's stance against racism will appear on flat-screen TVs around the stadium concourses, while further messages will be announced on the public address system.

Kick it Out fanzines will also be handed out to fans arriving at the stadium, while the club's match programme will feature a strong anti-racism theme throughout.

As part of Boro's ongoing education programme, Boro star Chris Riggott visited Caedmon School in Grangetown earlier this week ahead of a forthcoming visit by many of their pupils to Auschwitz, Poland, scene of the Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
Although incidents of racism at Boro games are rare, the club also works closely with the Police to combat all forms of anti-social behaviour.
