Steven Gerrard clarifies stance on Boro target
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has revealed that Boro target Jordan Jones could still have a future with the club despite the latest speculation.
Jordan Jones has been linked with an exit from Ibrox in recent days following an eventful debut season.
Despite initially impressing following his move from Kilmarnock last summer, the pacy winger fell out with Gerard after receiving his marching orders in the Old Firm derby.
Jordan Jones was not included in the match-day squad on Saturday in the opening day victory for Rangers and this has further amplified rumours of his departure in the summer transfer window.
Speaking after the game Gerrard was quizzed about the 25-year-old and revealed that although he is looking for potential additions in attack, Jones was still part of the team.
"I am looking to strengthen in the forward area, but in terms of Jordan he has come back, trained hard and been focused," he told the Scottish Sun.
He further reiterated that he did not know about the speculation regarding the player's future and wants him to focus on the current task.
"I don’t know where that noise has come from, but it certainly hasn’t come from our side. Jordan just needs to keep his head down and keep on working hard. What will be, will be."
