Swansea City to move for former Middlesbrough defender
Championship side Swansea City have been linked with a move for former Boro defender Daniel Ayala.
The Spanish defender is currently a free agent having left Boro in July and is currently weighing up his options.
Newly promoted Leeds United were linked with a move for him but it appears that they are pursuing other options.
According to Wales Online, Swansea City are keen on the 29-year-old, with manager Steve Cooper identifying the Spaniard as a key addition this summer transfer window. Spanish side Leganes are also thought to be interested in the defender, but they are reviewing their options following relegation from La Liga meaning that they may not be able to afford the defender.
Daniel Ayala is known for his defensive qualities and is an experienced head in defence. Swansea City are hoping to compete next season with the club recently losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs to Brentford.
