Tony Pulis - "It’s a smashing group, but it’s not good enough to get us promoted"
Boro boss, Tony Pulis, revealed yesterday afternoon that he feels his Boro side don't yet have "enough to get us promoted".
Following the 2-2 draw with Millwall in Boro's season opener, Tony Pulis told reporters that his Boro squad are "a smashing group, but it’s not good enough to get us promoted. We need to add to the group."
"I think we’ve got to put things in perspective, if you look at the team that came here today compared to the team that finished the season we’re six players down."
"When you are talking about Gibson, Ayala, Traore, Bamford, Besic, all top players, so that team was a massive change. And we know we have to bring players in, that group is not good enough to get us promoted."
On reflection of the Millwall game which saw Boro go 2-0 down, only to level in the 97th minute, Pulis said:
"The players worked really hard. I thought we were very, very average first half, and I mean very average. It was only the last 20, 25 minutes that we started to have a go and when we did have a go we missed some blinking good opportunities before we scored."
"We needed a goal and luckily we got the goal" he added.

The group have worked hard all pre-season and fitness wise we looked the strongest group at the end. Neil (Harris) will be disappointed but I am absolutely delighted.”
