Warnock refuses to give definite answer on the future of Nathan Wood

Nathan Wood is returning from his loan spell at Crewe after signing for them in the January transfer window, but he is currently injured, and his future at Middlesbrough is unsure.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock had revealed that he is not yet sure about the future of Nathan Wood when he was asked whether he will send the 18-year-old out on another loan spell.

Wood signed for Crewe in the January transfer window, but a groin injury hampered his progress at the League One side, and he could only play one of the club's final four league matches.

Warnock has refused to give a definite answer on if he will allow Wood to go out on loan again for next season, putting the defender's future on hold.

Warnock said, "that I don’t know."

"Nathan has had a bit of an injury; he played well in a couple of games and didn't do so well in a couple of games."

"It's what you expect for an 18-year-old; you are going to get ups and downs, so I don’t know the answer to that."

Middlesbrough are unlikely to sanction a permanent move out of the club for Wood with the looks of things, but a loan move is possible.
