Warnock targets one midfielder and expects seven arrivals at the club

Neil Warnock has always made his intentions known about improving his squad in the current transfer window, as he hopes to challenge for promotion to the Premier League next season.

Warnock has revealed that Middlesbrough are slowly progressing in the summer transfer window, with the club in talks with several players.

Boro have so far made one signing, after securing the services of goalkeeper Joe Lumley on a free transfer from QPR. However, Warnock has now revealed that he wants a midfielder who will have a versatile role in the squad.

In a recent interview, where Warnock was asked about a former Cardiff City midfielder Loic Damour, he stated he is looking for a midfielder to join the club.

"I'm looking at another midfielder, but Loic was a good squad man for me," he said.

He further stated that he wants to sign six or seven players.

"Everything is going to start moving in about two weeks time. I want six or seven players. I've signed one keeper so far, that's all."

"I'm talking to everybody but haven't got anyone signed. So players have got to be realistic because the money isn’t there like it was before."

Boro will begin pre-season on Wednesday, July 1st, and that is also when many of their targets will become free agents officially. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before they confirm series of new players.
