Woodgate tips defender for Premier League transfer

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has tipped defender Harold Moukoudi for a move to the Premier League in the near future.

The 22-year-old made the move to Boro on transfer deadline day from St Etienne in January and appears to have impressed his new manager.

Since his arrival at the club, Moukoudi has featured in three matches with Boro conceding six goals during this run.

However, the Cameroon international has shown promise and Woodgate is one of those believes in his potential.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Barnsley, Woodgate was in awe about his talents.

"Harold Moukoudi is a young lad, plenty of ability, huge potential," he said.

He further revealed that he believes the centre-back would have no shortage of suitors in the summer and he wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the Premier League.

"Nothing has changed my opinion, he can go and play in the Premier League. Someone will get their hands on him next year, people will look to buy him in the summer."

This is huge praise coming from an accomplished defender like Woodgate. Boro fans will be hoping that the 22-year-old would be able to put up dominant displays as the club aims to avoid falling into the relegation scrap.
