  1. Past hour
  2. To be fair before his first injury I think he was in his best form for us (after a weird in and out start to the campaign), 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games at one point. Then we didn't see him for about 3 months, he came back and wasn't playing badly, just not up to the standard earlier in the season. I don't think at any point this season He's been playing like someone who doesn't want to be here.
  3. Today
  4. I've no doubt they've got absolutely zero interest in protection the competition, or the lower leagues, but I've always hated replays so it doesn't bother me particularly. I know I'm an outlier with that, but I've never liked the financial argument as it always seem to be about keeling clubs afloat when they wouldn't be able to without it, which I don't think is healthy, and it certainly doesn't help smaller clubs in a sporting sense. I'm more annoyed about the FA Cup final continuing to be played before the end of the league season, that's really diminishing it.
  5. They've strengthened the format by removing replays. Yeah right. I suppose it's better than saying that the game in this country is run for the benefit of half a dozen clubs, who incidentally, would drop being part of football in this country in a microsecond if it suited them financially to do so - hence the clubs who were supporting the Super League not long ago, and still do support it whatever they might say publicly.
  6. Hednesford swapped to play their tie here rather than at home.
  7. If he's got issues off the pitch then it puts some of this season into a bit of perspective I'd say. I know his body language has been mentioned a few times. If he's having a rough time of it outside football then it stands to reason we wouldn't be seeing the best of him regardless of the injuries.
  8. Ref for Leeds game is Chris Wilder's favourite sarnie muncher Tony Harrington who we last crossed path with at Preston when we played them off the park but still ended up losing 2-1. He has awarded six penalties this season including four in his last three games, three of which were against the home teams. Usually three or four yellows a game, but seven on more than one occasion, so stats seem to indicate that he is prone to losing control of things but shouldn't have problems with a Boro-Leeds game 🙂. Andrew Kitchen is fourth official so local lads well represented. Seven of his last eight ga
  9. Can't see only one club being interested in him. There'll be a few enquiries
  10. He suits our style of play coming in off left but his numbers weren’t standard out for an attacking midfielder
  11. I agree but Union Berlin were never ever going to pay that
  12. If you told me at the end of last season we want £8m for him I’d have said that’s a very fair valuation on our part
  13. Yeah I do agree with. Although he's our best player currently. He wanted to be away last summer but our valuation wasn't met but I think after this season injuries etc we will just cut our losses on the valuation. We wanted £8mil last summer and I'd be surprised if we even get half of that. He's having lots of issues off the pitch so I just hope recovers from that and gets back to his form because he's some player.
  14. I mean, we don't appoint just based on experience either and I'd be frustrated if we did. Vince said if she wanted to put her hat in the ring she would be under consideration. Is it outrageous to suggest that maybe she didn't? I'm not actually sure on that front. She went back to her Academy job after being in interim charge. The same thing happened with Craig Liddle who was put in interim charge before Pulis came in. And there's one thing you can say about both Craig Liddle and Hannah Dingley as a result of those decisions too, they both still have a job at the same club as it stands. Me
  15. Unfortunately we can copy and paste that analysis onto almost everyone this year!
  16. Makes sense. Everything with him has felt... not quite right this season since the rumoured failed move last year. Good luck to him, I think he's one of the best players we have but honestly we shouldn't be keeping people who don't want to be here, for me at least.
  17. Yea he’s one I defo hope we go for, he reminds me of Juninho tbh the way he dribbles.
  18. has happened before i'm sure
  19. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brad-james-details-middlesbrough-injury-29009247 Brad James speaks on being injured for 2 and a half years. What an ordeal this lad went through.
  20. Where is Azaz's screamer against preston? Did I imagine that :one??? S
  21. An Accrington Stanley or say a Rochdale drawn against Man Utd or City I'd guess would much rather swap the tie to the big Manchester venue for a bumper pay day. The receipts from that one game would probably equal their entire turnstile takings for a season. The romance of the Cup however would be somewhat tarnished if the little teams swapped the ties around, that said the FA sold the romance of the Cup several decades ago.
  22. Midweek FA Cup games always blur into the endless midweek PL and Championship fixture rounds, especially since they tend to be played on the same days with cup-involved teams postponing their fixtures. Glad to see the FAC being given a higher profile, and I agree that the home advantage will be magnified for lower league teams who aren't going to get walloped in the replay if they draw their home game. I do wonder if some smaller teams in financial trouble might agitate to swap their home ties for away ones to boost gate receipts, though. Those replays at bigger grounds will have brought
  23. hopefully get some mad results along the way given the bigger clubs can't rely on a replay to bail them out when the little team gets the upper hand or stays neck a neck with them
  24. Any idea where he's going?
  25. In the last 10 seasons, and I'll exclude goalkeepers, these are the players we've signed from League One: Matt Crooks (after relegation) Uche Ikpeazu (after relegation) Sam Morsy (after relegation) Duncan Watmore Anfernee Dijksteel (after promotion) Marc Bola Paddy McNair (after relegation) Marvin Johnson Lee Tomlin (mid-season after relegation) James Husband (after relegation) Albert Adomah (after relegation) It's not a big list of players at all, and almost all of them, bar Husband and Ikpeazu, were decent signings. You
