With his contract situation I can't see Paddy being risked unless he is totally match ready plus the Player himself wouldn't want to risk injury, bit of a gamble for me. What's your favourite thing about Leeds? Car showrooms, I have bought quite a few Cars from dealers in and around Leeds. What are the odds on Bamford cheating yet again? I'd be disappointed if he did but w

  4. I totally forgot he returned to squad and then dropped out. Yeah in that case he on bench -at best.
  5. Thanks for taking ownership of the thread at least you had more days to play with then my last thread! No really it is appreciated and I believe your first MDT in quite sometime
  6. Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.

  8. Teacider has stuck a thread up if you just want to take it easy and do the next one when you're feeling better?
  9. If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Aza
  10. Hi guys I am here Been in bed with the flu for a few days .. and haven't had my mind on anything but getting well I can have a thread up before I go to bed ..
  11. Thought I'd be helpful and get the match thread started with the disappearance of Smogdane. On Monday night at 8pm, Middlesbrough face Leeds United in a YORKSHIRE DERBY, it's a match that's of vital importance in the promotion race. Leeds are 3rd in the Championship, and a point off the automatic promotion spots, they've only won 1 of their last 5 games and are fortunate that the two teams above them keep slipping up too. We'll find out tomorrow whether Middlesbrough are finally mathematically out of the play-off hunt, if West Brom draw and Norwich win, it's done. Luke Ayli
  12. Think we might need to bring in emergency measures again for this one. SD hasn't been on since Tuesday.
  13. I should clarify i dont mean we should play out every single time. That would just be ridiculous if men are not available/being pressed but playing out from the back should certainly be the first port of call and if not available then try something else if thats the way MC wishes to play.
  14. Just as well or we would have been hammered
  15. We played more long balls against Ipswich than Man City did against Madrid 😂
  16. I watched Man City v Real Madrid the other night and neither of those sides played tippy tappy in their own box the way we do. They both played it long if they were pressed. I presume you would include those two amongst the elite teams? Playing the ball around in your own box does not work for any team ever 🤷‍♂️
  17. So if lets say dieng plays it out long down the channels and they opposition get possession and 30 seconds later they score, I dont see how that is any better? By kicking it long we are more likely to concede possession quicker than playing it out the back. Each to their own but there is a reason why so many elite teams across the world now play this way. And its all good saying players who are not at that level should not be doing so but all professional players can be taught this. Its just more high risk but clearly the rewards are greater as well.
  18. That is literally the whole point of playing out. You play out under pressure to break the pressure and generate an attack. If you only play out from the back when you're not under pressure you are not playing out from the back.
  19. stick to the basics, dont mess about if in a dangerous area being pressed deep. in those situations hit it long into the channels. if there is plenty of time and space, then take the opportunity to play out. our trouble is we try to play out when under pressure, with players who are not the quickest and are often rushed into a mistake/bad decision. even when we have time we have given it away and conceded. its quite obvious when we are about to do it, the crowd always know whats coming and the groans start before we even give it away.
  20. Not being sarcastic but interested. If we stopped playing out from the back, how would you want us to play when the phase of play starts with our GK having the ball?
  21. the goals we typically concede are from our left or from pathetic attempts to play out from the back losing possession deep in our half. we need Tav mk2 for the left and to stop the stupid man city tactics.
  22. Will we? How many goals have we conceded recently playing a back 4 and O’Brien in midfield?
  23. Happy if O'Brien comes great competition for hackney, still need a proper DCM though or we will continue to ship goals for fun if we're sticking to 4 at the back
  24. I’d be happy with that, it’s hard to find a good proven and affordable cm and we’ve got one on a plate with O’Brien with the added try before you buy benefit. Ayling I think is a no brainer if he’s cheap enough.
  25. Yeah just listened to the presser thats on website @Teacider and not sure if MC let slip but he said “there are important players here we want to keep for the long term”. Not sure if that was a general comment or one aimed at loan players. Think we will try keep Ayling and O'Brien and let go of Greenwood and Thomas.
  26. No matchday thread so I'll shot it here. Sounds like we are interested in signing Ayling permanently. There are contract discussions underway with a number of players. McNair is back in training, apparently Lenihan isn't close.

I suspect another draw, Leeds have been spluttering so we could take them but without Ayling our supply line is severely restricted (never thought I'd be thinking let alone saying that when we signed him). Do we want them in the Championship next season is maybe another way to approach the game?
