Long time lurker and reader of this post and forum [I am a boro fan] I went to slovakia a couple of weeks ago and ended up watching slovan bratislava (aka strelec) v spartak trnava Anyway if he is a target we should pay no more than 5 or 6 million euros for. He was handy, held it up well when he needed to, but wasn't worth the 9m euros we where quoted. If we were to sign one of their players I'd much rather we signed rahim ibrahim, well rounded box to box midfielder who'd be available for peanuts. Anyway strelec didn't shine to the level he probably should have. And certainly not for the price that club want. -

It actually finished 2-2, but nothing happened in the last 15 mins after Jimmy Hill displayed the Sunderland result for all to see. Then 20 yrs later in 96/97 Coventry did it again, kicking off 15 mins late as Sunderland were relegated with us. Strangely the only person to really make any noise about it was Alex Ferguson, who apparently disliked Strachan and didn't trust him. -

Can anyone provide me with some recommendations for football books? Not looking for facts and figures sort of books but something with an interesting story behind it. While I was away I got stuck into a book called "The Ruhleben Football Association" which was all about the POW in WWI who created football teams to keep their spirits up during their internment, happened to mention Boro a few times as Steve Bloomer and Fred Pentland were both detained there, found it quite interesting -
Yes Coventry v Bristol City, their match kicked off 15 minutes after the mackems game finished realising a point each will guarentee survical for bith, a walking pace 0-0 score, with neither team crossing the half way line
