He suits our style of play coming in off left but his numbers weren’t standard out for an attacking midfielder

I agree but Union Berlin were never ever going to pay that

If you told me at the end of last season we want £8m for him I’d have said that’s a very fair valuation on our part

Yeah I do agree with.  Although he's our best player currently. He wanted to be away last summer but our valuation wasn't met but I think after this season injuries etc we will just cut our losses on the valuation. We wanted £8mil last summer and I'd be surprised if we even get half of that. He's having lots of issues off the pitch so I just hope recovers from that and gets back to his form because he's some player.

I mean, we don't appoint just based on experience either and I'd be frustrated if we did. Vince said if she wanted to put her hat in the ring she would be under consideration. Is it outrageous to suggest that maybe she didn't? I'm not actually sure on that front. She went back to her Academy job after being in interim charge. The same thing happened with Craig Liddle who was put in interim charge before Pulis came in. And there's one thing you can say about both Craig Liddle and Hannah Dingley as a result of those decisions too, they both still have a job at the same club as it stands. Meanwhile, Horseman and Deeney have both been put in the bin by the owner, just like Woodgate, Warnock and Wilder were in Liddle's time. The song and dance is one thing but the fact is he is the first owner to put a woman in charge of a team in the interim. Big or small, that is a moment in football that happened for the first time, certainly in the UK. And, perhaps more than anything, the whole fuss he helped to create actually seemed to do a good job of highlighting the fact she's been involved in men's football in a coaching capacity for a long period of time and a decent period at the head of what, in recent seasons, has been an EFL academy. We can't know for sure but she seemed to be happy getting that spotlight on her too and made good use of it and fair play to her for doing so if that's what she wanted to do. Has Vince changed the game in doing what he did there? Probably not. But I don't think he'd be wrong to suggest FGR are ahead of most other teams in giving someone like her a chance as the proof is in the job she already had and continues to have in a men's coaching setup.
