    • I think it was just too good a player to turn down, as he could be a potential game changer and be way too good for this league if he clicks quickly when someone in that mould comes available I think we are always interested  more likley if we got him as cover its probs because of forss than mcgree
    • and tried hamilton on the left in the cup?
    • honestly i think this is why we suddenly went out and got doak
    • It's easy to talk about supporting mental health when you're making £44.5 million post-tax profits per quarter (Kindred Group's own figures for Q2 2024) from people gambling money they may not have or be able to afford. Not all of us can put a flutter on the FA Cup Final and leave it at that.  I'm honestly not a censorious person by nature. I respect people's rights to do as they please, and I'm a big advocate of freedom of speech. Normally. But I really do wish the Government would ban gambling advertising in the UK. Having lived with a gambling addict, I've seen how destructive it is. It's a scourge. For MFC to continue promoting gambling so brazenly, year after year, makes me respect the club a lot less. And I will never, ever buy a replica shirt with gambling sponsorship on it. Being able to buy a sponsor-free shirt at the Club Shop is a token step forward, but shame on Boro for agreeing to yet another two years of being Unibet apologists. Put it this way - if a football club is obligated to change their sponsor on kids' shirts on moral grounds, their adult shirts shouldn't have that sponsor either. Plenty of teams have the same sponsor on every home and away shirt in their club shops.
    • Does the two goals scored by Jones midweek mean that he has had his one in seven games good performance or can he take that performance into the PNE game, he should be looking forward to it I would hope? He's such a frustrating player. On his day, he looks exceptional, but those days don't come around as often as they should at the top end of the Championship. I can see why people love him, but also why he gets so much stick - the catastophe against Derby didn't help his cause, since it effectively lost us a game we should have won. I think Izzy will keep his place in the team, but a couple of uninspiring performances without goals or assists and he'll lose his place to Doak - potentially for some time, if the latter can find form quickly. So many rumours of players being available again, likes of McGree, Howson,VDB, Forss even, but will we be peeved off that they are not ready for a return. I've lost track of who's signed for us, who's injured and who's been away on international duty, so I'll be fairly relaxed when the teamsheet drops on Saturday. I hope we get one or two players back each week, though - after a fairly quiet September, we have five matches in October and then six in both November and December. We'll need to rotate heavily. Will ELL be ready to unleash hell on PNE? I do hope so! Will Matty Clarke want to continue being top scorer and get himself another goal or two? I do hope so! Will we see goals from open play against PNE? I do hope so!
