      28th March 1903 Division One Our first win on this day as a league club with Nottm Forest our visitors to Linthorpe road Boro winning 2-0, Alex Robertson with his 5th goal of the season, Leonard Goodson  doubled our lead with his 3rd & last goal of the season John Robsons Boro finished in 13th place in their first ever season in the top flight

      I said all along that Carrick would commit to the Boro, I dont think he's done enough for a bigish PL club to take a gamble on him, not knocking MC one bit, im happy he's staying, if it's true, great business by the club, saying that if he has signed you would have thought it would have been made public though

      I think the poor January transfer window, the cluster£u(k of the Early Bird season cards allied to the team and Carrick being booed after some underwhelming and tactically calamitous showings didn't and still don't lend themselves to any announcements aimed at positive PR. I know many will be ecstatic if Carrick has indeed signed a new contract but equally there will be a few that are somewhat less than convinced. It's all about timing and getting the maximum out of it, poor results and questionable tactics doesn't make for maximum hype and spin. meaning the news (if true) is saved for another week.
