oneBoro Forum Posting Guidelines
We strive to create a positive and respectful community for all fans. By participating in this forum, you agree to follow these guidelines, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. These rules also align with the UK Online Safety Act 2023.
The oneBoro Forum is classified as an Entertainment & Sport Forum with a Middlesbrough FC focus, allowing discussion around Middlesbrough FC, general football, other sports, and entertainment topics like film and TV.
While we welcome varied discussions, high-risk or controversial categories — such as politics or graphic content — are discouraged to ensure compliance with the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and to maintain a safe, welcoming space.
While some off-topic discussions may be allowed, posts that are irrelevant, disruptive, or detract from the overall community experience may be reviewed and, if necessary, removed. Moderators will use discretion to ensure a balance between football-related content and general community engagement.

- Derogatory remarks about individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, or nationality will result in immediate content removal.
2.2 Violence & Threats
- Posts that threaten or incite violence towards individuals or groups will not be tolerated.
- Violent imagery, language, or any content that promotes harm will be removed.
2.3 Sexual Content
- Explicit or sexually suggestive content (images, videos, links, comments) is forbidden.
- Any content involving minors or sexual exploitation is strictly illegal and will be reported to the authorities.
2.4 Illegal Activities
- Do not post about or promote illegal activities such as drug use, underage drinking, or unlawful behaviour.
- Impersonating others, scamming, or phishing is prohibited.
2.5 Copyrighted or Infringing Content
- Do not upload or post copyrighted content unless you own it or have permission.
- This includes copying and sharing text, media, or images without rights or licensing.
- Repeated or serious violations may result in removal, account suspension or permanent removal.
2.6 Embedded Media Responsibility (Giphy & Smartframe)
Where the Forum provides approved tools to embed third-party content (such as Giphy for GIFs or Smartframe for licensed images), users remain fully responsible for the content they choose to embed.
This includes ensuring that embedded content:
- Is appropriate for a public forum
- Does not breach these Posting Guidelines
- Does not infringe copyright, privacy, or other legal rights
- Is not offensive, misleading, or harmful in context
3. Content Moderation
3.1 Reporting Violations
- Use the "Report Post" function to flag content that violates these guidelines.
- Moderators will review and take necessary action, including removal or warnings.
3.2 Moderator Actions
- Content breaching guidelines may be edited, removed, or hidden.
- Users repeatedly violating rules may face temporary or permanent bans.
3.2.1 Embedded Media Providers
The Forum allows limited embedding of third-party media to enhance discussion. This includes:
- Giphy, which enables users to embed licensed and moderated GIF content.
- Smartframe, which enables users to embed licensed images from approved content partners.
3.3 Appeals Process
- If you believe your content was unfairly moderated, submit an appeal via the contact form.
4. Privacy & Safety
- Protect your privacy. Do not share personal details (full name, address, phone number, etc.).
- Doxxing (sharing others' private information without consent) is strictly prohibited.
- Non-consensual intimate images ("revenge porn") are illegal and will be reported.
5. Spam, Fake Accounts & Advertising
- Spam (repetitive, irrelevant, or unsolicited content) will be removed.
- Fake accounts created to evade bans, impersonate, or mislead will be suspended.
- Advertising of businesses, products, or services requires admin approval.
5.1 Safe Linking
- Links from domains on our approved list will be automatically published.
- Links not on this list may be subject to manual review and approval before being visible to others.
- Malicious, misleading, or irrelevant links will be removed. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
- You may suggest new domains via the contact form for consideration.
- Approval of a domain does not imply approval of individual content hosted on that domain.
6. Age Restrictions
- You must be 18 years or older to register.
7. Advertising & Promotions
- Sponsorships or promotions must be pre-approved by administrators.
- Links in promotional or personal posts must originate from approved sources or receive prior admin approval.
- Third-party links should be relevant, safe, and not violate guidelines.
This is to reduce user exposure to risk and to comply with legal standards on hosted content.
