The issue isn't the strikers. Yes, we miss opportunities but how many of them are genuine chances?
The issue is our build up play, it's too slow and stupidly predictable and that probably lies with everyone behind.
The likes of Tomlin and Leadbitter take too long on the ball and by the time it comes to passing the other team has managed to get back and defend.
Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.
If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway.
I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us)
Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there:
Dieng
Paddy VDB Clarke
Jones Howson O'Brien Engel
Silveria LL Azaz
