Would like to welcome Brunners as part of the moderation team following the resignation of Macarrone. Many of you know Brunners well as a long time forum member and a popular one at that. We are certain that he will be an asset and a good friend to all.9 points

Browne had a very good first half, he's ready in my book, Bola still looks like he needs confidence - that goal will hopefully give him it - he struck it well3 points

Longer than 3 games into a new manager's tenure, I'll tell you that much.3 points

Anyone want to try and dress that up? Easily ranks amongst some of the worst football I've seen and I was at that fabled Barnsley 3 Boro 2 game. People seem to think so long as it's not Pulis football, anything is acceptable. If Pulis was in charge for these last 3 games, then he'd have been given pelters from our fans. But 1 good 45 minutes against Brentford and it's ok. Theyre League 2, and they controlled the game and we barely troubled them. How long do we leave it before we start to worry?3 points

I still stand by this.3 points

I will. Looking tidy, we've had most possession and Clayton had two players on him and did a Cruyff turn and did them like kippers - my life is complete3 points

Fry told me and my grandson that he will not be ready for another 10 days so would not expect to see him until after the Blackburn game3 points

So my match report, Stand outs= 1st half = Browne, and Freind just for the Cruyff turn. Half time = Dean Gordon's ex saying hello and Milf with wind smiling at me. 2nd half = Fletcher and Mcnair - really impressed with both. Pens - Mcnairs was spot on. Special shout out to bloke picking his nose and eating it, Boro not having ball boys (spent ages watching a fat steward going for the ball in the East stand when we were trying to get back in game) and the Max Verstappen look alike behind the bar. Luckily I am so scarred from Pulis I still enjoyed tonight2 points

You can just tell hes an over-thinker... his body language stinks to me of someone who is obsessed with coming across as this cocky confident striker, hence his nervous laugh and smiles when missing sitters, theres no shame in admitting you need a goal but hes not that kind of guy he will post some vanilla statement later tonight about it being a hard game but we go again, he will still probably get over 15 goals this season but his mental ability holds him back for me, needs to be far more focused on the pitch and less concerned with how many of his pals will call him bagsman so he can share2 points

Bola had zero confidence till a boy t the 80th min and he started playing - Djiksteel made some errors but wasn't awful2 points

Britt's penalties sum him up, too laid back and not focussed. One of the most frustrating players I've seen in a Boro shirt. Ok even the best players miss penalties but 3 misses in a row and all over the bar is shocking.2 points

This is exactly why I didn't want Woodgate to ring the changes. A few changes yes - gearing towards something that resembles the team we'll see more of this season, with one or two fringe players getting a run-out. That way a few of the new players can 'play their way into the team' for the weekend, garner a little bit of confidence (even a win vs a league 2 team will do that) and maybe a little momentum to kick start our season. Now we're on the brink of a very demoralising defeat at home vs a team 2 divisions below us with no win in our opening 3 competitive fixtures. And sauntering int2 points

There's a lad at the bar who looks like Max Verstappen - I asked if anyone has ever mentioned it and he said "I'm always getting compared with fictional characters" ?2 points

Called it. Wood for fry if he's not quite ready was the key line...2 points

I did want to congratulate Brunners, but I saw the queue and decided to set off the match to avoid the crush ps.....for what you are about to receive, may the CT make you truly thankful2 points

Does that mean you can now do something about it, if I ever have a system overload like the time you told me to shut up? ? ?? This is a little like giving the armband to Ayala... Giving away some responsibility to a person going to the very edge of the limit .. ? Banter aside - Congrats Brunners - You will do well ??♂️?2 points

Sort off The club won't allow any standing and jumping in 69 cause of the tier... The club have offered a lower section where safety is better .. But RF declined that and wanted to move further back instead... Then I GUESS that rumours and gossip and adding to the story made way for a tiny over reaction This should be sorted weeks ago not few days/hours before the match though.2 points

Bit of both, at times. There were balls he would have won in the air had he been up for it. Don't get me wrong, the booing was pathetic but he didn't give a great account of himself.1 point

Either way, Britt is s*** at both.1 point

That's a midfield 3 I want us to try. Might not be one that works but would like to see how it would go.1 point

A lot longer than this mate. It's an entirely new philosophy and way of playing, that is going to take some time to bed down. 10 changes tonight wouldn't have made it easy either, including a bunch of debuts - most of those players won't have played with each other in a competitive setting before. I'd give it 10-15 games easily before we really start to judge, that's when things should have settled and we should really be on top of the new style. We are doing stuff right at times, it's just a case of getting consistent performances out of some players.1 point

Browne looking very lively and George friend beat their right winger? For pace. And no I'm not drunk1 point

Huge opportunity for him I think this is his first start for us last season I remember sub cameos I don't think Pulis handed him a start? Really intriguing game from seeing Friend LCB in a back 4 with Wood to Tav and Sav can they shine themselves plus the 3 new boys and Walker I think it's setup to be a very interesting evening with a couple of potentially breakout moments definitely possible.1 point

Feels like a big opportunity for Walker this. Given we're so light up top a good performance could force him closer to the 1st team.1 point

I agree for the most part with this, what Steve Gibson has done for this football club can never be questioned, he's the reason we still have a football club. We have some fantastic years in the PL. There's no doubt Gibson has lost his way a bit and its not only down to the financial side of things but poor managerial decision making. it started with the season under Southgate which I still believe we've never totally recovered from. The last relegation season, Karanka goes and Agnew is put in charge, at least bring someone in with managerial experience in who may have given us a fighting1 point

I would like him to do what he used to do when he would be interviewed ie Radio Tees/Century and answer questions. Although obviously it hasn't been great for PR with the way his smash the league comment was interpreted and saying most of Stockton are Sunderland fans in another one. Bar Woodgates unveiling (when he denied us being in a poor financial position). I think it was 2 years since he was last asked questions about us in a public domain.1 point

I could be wrong, but I think the second yellow was so soft that the referee knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. No chance he'd have given a yellow card for such a minor incident if he'd thought it was leading to a red card. -

Very lucky considering Martinez got two yellows but got away with it due to the penalties not being regarded as the same game, which doesn't really make sense to me -

Yeah, I get that. Like last night, Real Madrid were played off the park by Man City but have scraped through to a major semi-final because City couldn't finish and they've scrapped away goals. Tonight, Aston Villa were lucky to beat Lille on penalties, who were much the better team on the night.
