  2. I think the commentator was probably correct. We turned lazy in the second half due to thinking job done and they caught us out. You could also tell that the original mind-set was to keep charging forward looking for goals but from about the 75th minute we controlled it much better and remembered we were actually 2 goals up. Overall still happy with performance. 1 win next month sees us qualify ?

  3. Ok this is one from left field but a player I would like to see Boro sign in January is Jack Byrne from Shamrock Rovers. I had seen him in the League of Ireland but didn’t know if he could step up. His performance in the last half hour for Ireland against Bulgaria tells me that he absolutely can. I would hope that Robbie Keane will be all over it. He would cost around 300k at most and is a very clever and skillful playmaker.

  4. Raised £50m but how much of that did he waste on signings in positions we didn't need? How much did he get from the club personally as our highest paid manager, and a supposed cut of sales? Bonuses for hitting playoffs? How much did we miss out on by not even trying for promotion when we made said playoffs? Talk of a tighter knit squad but only tighter in the sense that they all play in the middle of the park. Talk of trimming the squad but eliminating all the wide players and replacing them with more central players is not the way to go about it. Half truths and PR spin. Would expec

It probably goes against the grain for many but the Transporter Bridge isn't exactly iconic apart from a eight mile radius South, East and West of it. It's not even given a thought by people living ton he North side of the Tees. Let's face it, it's usually under repair and out of order and even when "operational" neither practical nor functional. Being brutal, the Tees Flyover or even Newport Bridge are probably more recognised by people from outside of the area. Granted, it's old and quaint but other than that it's hardly the Tyne Bridge or Sydney Harbour Bridge which we built and I wouldn't want either of those on the badge. The Wilton Cooling towers are more instantly connected to Teesside by the rest of the Country and that (hopefully) isn't a consideration. If we do have to have something additional to the rampant Roary then let it be the ships which is a nod to our past and with the upcoming Freeport a nod to a hopefully successful future plus we know how supportive SG has been towards the Freeport. The Hogwarts badge coincides with the bleakest period at the Riverside and far from me being superstitious but it does seem more than a coincidence. Personally I'd prefer to revert to the badge which encompassed the most successful period in our 150 year history with just a subtle change of date.
