  1. The Boro are unbeaten in the last 4 games & on the back of a 1-0 win at home to Reading travel to South Wales to take on recently relegated Cardiff City who sit below the Boro in the championship table on goal difference, there record is the same as the Boro’s so far, played 7, won 2, drew 3, lost 2 One of the bookies favourites to return to the PL Cardiff have found it anything but easy, they’ve had a busy summer in the transfer market bringing in up to 10 players, including our very own Aden Flint a big money transfer Cardiff are without a win in the last 3 games after starting

  2. I wasn't against making him manager.. I actually thought 'why not?'.. But, I didn't think I'd find him as likeable as I do now.. his passion in interviews, how speaks about the area after the game when he goes over a puts an arm around a player that's had a tough game - whereas Pulis would slate them on the radio for all to hear .. which leads me to.. his decision to make Fry captain and treat him as the pro he is - not stick him right back and waste his potential.

  3. On the ex player front we should add Paul Sugrue , currently living at her majestys pleasure! Remember last time I went to a Cardiff game he was running a pub near the ground and got talking to him about his time with us. Always liked him as a decent player in a pretty rubbish team at the time. As for this match I think that first away win will have to wait as Cardiff are going to be up there this season and a point will be very good. So whilst heart says 2-1 to us , head says 0-0 or 1-1and no doubt Flint getting theirs!

  4. I think we have a good chance of getting our first away win. Cardiff are a decent side and any team with Warnock at the helm will be well organised. However the onus is on them to come forward and hopefully that will give us some space to break forward on. We all know the weakness of Flint when the ball is played on the ground so it should be possible for Britt to get around him. It'll be a huge game for out defenders because Cardiff will look to get the ball into the box and rattles us. I think we'll do a smash and grab and win 2-1.

  5. Will be going to this one as I am a resident of the Welsh capital. Very much looking forward to this and I think we have a real chance of taking all 3 points. Not been overly impressed with Cardiff in the games I've seen them in this season so I'm predicting a 2-1 Boro win with goals from Assombalonga and McNair.

  6. Very informative op thanks for that. Went to Cardiff last time we played them, easy parking, great away enclosure, friendly staff and stewards. Believe we can get our first elusive away win.

  7. we've been as good as we have been bad, and equally unlucky this season. if you add that up with the overall situation as a club and rookie managerial team.... I'd say we're heading in the right direction

  8. I wouldn’t say we have been ‘revatilised’ yet and if you were looking at us on a progression curve I’d put us at the bottom of it. It looks like we’ve bottomed out for now and the next big question is wether we can start to turn it upwards again or will we plateau or dip further.

I mean, we don't appoint just based on experience either and I'd be frustrated if we did. Vince said if she wanted to put her hat in the ring she would be under consideration. Is it outrageous to suggest that maybe she didn't? I'm not actually sure on that front. She went back to her Academy job after being in interim charge. The same thing happened with Craig Liddle who was put in interim charge before Pulis came in. And there's one thing you can say about both Craig Liddle and Hannah Dingley as a result of those decisions too, they both still have a job at the same club as it stands. Meanwhile, Horseman and Deeney have both been put in the bin by the owner, just like Woodgate, Warnock and Wilder were in Liddle's time. The song and dance is one thing but the fact is he is the first owner to put a woman in charge of a team in the interim. Big or small, that is a moment in football that happened for the first time, certainly in the UK. And, perhaps more than anything, the whole fuss he helped to create actually seemed to do a good job of highlighting the fact she's been involved in men's football in a coaching capacity for a long period of time and a decent period at the head of what, in recent seasons, has been an EFL academy. We can't know for sure but she seemed to be happy getting that spotlight on her too and made good use of it and fair play to her for doing so if that's what she wanted to do. Has Vince changed the game in doing what he did there? Probably not. But I don't think he'd be wrong to suggest FGR are ahead of most other teams in giving someone like her a chance as the proof is in the job she already had and continues to have in a men's coaching setup.

Unfortunately we can copy and paste that analysis onto almost everyone this year!

Makes sense. Everything with him has felt... not quite right this season since the rumoured failed move last year. Good luck to him, I think he's one of the best players we have but honestly we shouldn't be keeping people who don't want to be here, for me at least.
