  1. I don't have a soft spot for him. I wasn't convinced when we bought him unlike most on here and I rated Bamford as the better player as I also said repeatedly on the forum, preferring to keep him and sell Assombalonga if I had a choice. But he is the best we have right now and it's not even close. We have a big problem with goal scoring within the rest of the team but he's the one taking the flak for that as well, which is just nonsense. The other players aren't missing chances because of anything he does. Wing and McNair have had almost the same number of shots as Assombalonga this

  3. I don't like people bullshitting, which is what you've been doing about Britt for over a year. You even said on the previous page that it was Pulis who wanted rid of Britt, not the other way round. At least it's now clear to everyone that you like to embellish things that you're told.

  5. Ahh the benefit of hindsight. Og course people would rather want midt table nothingness while being fed sleeping pills every weekend over relegation. It's like choosing between two evils. All I wanted was the club to try something different from Pulis who is a destroyer of clubs. He did the exact same thing at WBA. And how you can class Pulis as an honest man is completely beyond me. He is a money grabbing, narciscistic liar. From everything he's said and done during his time here I have no doubt that he only cared about himself and how much money he could take out while deflecting everyt

  6. My favourite prank of his is the one with the Toot Toot Drivers toys, where his wife found out and turned the prank back round on him. Or the impossible to complete picture clue game he created to wind up one of his annoying friends.

  7. Ha I was however I dont think he probably redeemed his Nectar points to get it for free 🙂 He was with his Mrs, looked like they had spent the weekend in London. Tbf he seemed polite etc and who knows what is happening behind the scenes atm.

  8. They probably had to sell the Borocopter as part of the cost cutting. Also had to give up the limo. 😉 On a more serious note, even leasing those things isn't cheap. Nice to know senior management are joining in the belt tightening though.

  9. If we only rely on Brits 15 / 16 goals a season then we are certainly going to deep in poo. I don’t think Brit is the major problem but being our soul striker and no other reliable contributors is a major concern and I also believe people are mistaken his personality for a lazy attitude. I am just getting a bit fed up with people laying the blame with Britt as if changing him would solve our problems.

  10. Listening to his interview following the match last Sat he did say that he would prefer to remain here and he was aware that any contract offered would not be as good as his current one. Maybe he doesn't consider money to be the be all and end all, and is happy with his lot. Time will tell of course.

  11. I think you are being a little unfair here mate. I can get with the Assombalonga isn't finishing well enough this season and all of that but some of that is just wrong. He makes runs that any striker of his type makes and half the time doesn't get the ball because we don't have any players with a creative thought between them. He does lose possession in the last third, the same as every other striker in the world, so what are you saying that he should somehow be different? Statistically speaking, he has 2.7 unsuccessful touches per game and he's dispossessed 2.1 times per game. Neither of

  12. Good point DR and lets not forget Gibson will not come cheap his wages and his loan fee will almost take up the money we may get from Ayala. Loaning players some forget can be as costly as purchasing a player plus like you say we would have to get him match fit and there is the chance that we could end up pushing him to hard and he becomes even costlier sitting about injured. But not to worry I suppose uncle Stevie will give him a seat next to him to watch the games whilst recuperating. I agree a winger and possibly dare I say a decent striker.

  13. The number 1 priority is signing a pacy Adomar like winger! Why sign Ben Gibson he has hardly played any football since he was at Boro so will need to get his fitness back that'll take about 2 months the season and his loan be pretty much done then

  14. part of the reason others have only scored 6 is because he makes selfish runs, rather than create space for others, he loses possession in the last third, which means others cannot get high up the pitch and join him, and he rarely passes and isn't creative.

  18. Signing Ben Gibson on loan and not signing any attacking players is the type of thing this club normally does. Uncle Steve will be totally seduced by the idea of having another Teessider back at the club.

  19. What does that have to do with him missing decent chances in games though? His effort in games is there, whether people like it or not. What hasn't been there this season, as much as we'd like, is his finishing ability. I don't believe that's something that players can switch on and off at will.

  20. Bausor gets the train?? I assumed he'd fly in a helicopter, or at least be chauffeured around in a Rolls like Alan Sugar, with a glass of cognac in one hand and the latest League One scouting report in the other.

  21. Are the people agitating for Pulis's return remembering that his atrocious signings are a large part of the reason Woodgate inherited a hopelessly unbalanced squad with no width, no confidence and no attacking prowess? Even a talented and experienced manager couldn't undo the damage Pulis did to our squad and their playing style within four months, and Woody is neither of those things. It's possible to believe Pulis AND Woodgate were both terrible managerial appointments, in different ways. It's not a binary choice between them. Nor should we start viewing Monk's disastrous reign with ros

  22. It’s the standard ‘one or the other’ paradox most boro fans seem to have, ‘WE NEED A DEFENSIVE MANAGER WE CANT KEEP A CLEAN SHEET!!!’ ‘NOW WE NEED AN ATTACKING MANAGER, WE CANT SCORE!!’ What we needed that season after relegation was a manager to come in, take what karanka has built and slightly tweak it, but no. Typical boro we tore it up and started from scratch. Then what happened a few months later? We get a guy totally opposite to come in, he tore it up yet again. This summer we did exactly the same. We need a manager who can set his teams up with balance, not to overload o

  23. Tbh I'm struggling to see anyone paying 8 million for Britt. I'm beginning to come to terms that he will be the one we'll have to let go. I'd much rather keep Fry and Randolph that's for sure. I don't think Britt will get more than 12 this season and I suppose a cheaper option could match him for those goals. If his sale would mean a new striker and 1 or 2 extra bodies in key areas then I'd go for it. Surely there should be some useful loans out there.

  24. Just to let everyone know that the meeting went well and a vote will be taking place. They will let us know in due course. The voting comes from groups that are already members of the fans forum. The contents of the meeting will be published when I receive the minutes and I'll certainly share that with everyone. I think we contribute a lot the Boro community at large and there is more still we can be involved with. I argued for this passionately. However, I don't think we need to demand a place. Let our actions do the talking for us and lets continue to focus on being an great commu

  25. Well, pleased to report that Jen did attend the meeting which in her words was "good" I am sure that she will be adding a post soon regarding contents of interest for our members. Whilst she is positive in her feelings about it we now await a vote on whether or not we will be a equal member with those already involved, hopefully we will find out sooner rather than later but in either event I know that Jen will have presented oneBoro in a very capable manner and would like to thank her on all of our behalf for her time and effort last night. Thanks Jen

  26. I am sure that they will take us seriously after all I believe we are the only Boro forum which has actively sponsored player shirts in the past and MFC Ladies (whole kit). I hope that we can go down this route again next season. Due to shirt sponsorship this allowed us to interview Grant Leadbitter leading onto other interviews which were published for all to see. Again this is something I hope we can re-introduce on a bigger scale involving MFC players and staff with a dedicated team. Tom and Humpty were great ambassadors for oneBoro. We can offer something of that I am c

  29. DS - I was a daily visitor to FMTTM for many years. I owed a personal debt of gratitude to their Rob, and stayed long after the lack of mobile support and posters 'playing the man not the ball' became wearying. It's also quite politicised, which is often intrusive. This forum is light years ahead, both technically and in terms of the calibre of debate. It's good to see increased user levels, too, because the only thing that's held OB back (in my opinion) has been the comparative lack of activity on non-match days. I really think OB should be represented on fan forums, since the level

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera.

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
