  2. I believe it's something to do with when they actually sold it compared to when they put it in their books. Although IIRC the EFL are taking another look at the Derby one too so I don't know if we've heard the end of that yet.

  3. For all the guff Gibson was getting about persuing this, it's really turning out that he was right to. If he hadn't brought this forward would the efl have done anything?

  4. The only thing this place needs IMO is more members. It could be an idea to try and cross-promote with one of the big social media based sites like Everything MFC or Boro Banter Page to get them to put a post out, in return for example putting a front-page story up each time EMFC do a podcast etc - it would be additional content for the front page a well as driving people to here.

  5. It is correct........one month after we sold Dave Mills for the previous highest fee......that's inflation for you........mind you, we started the spiral with Alf Common

  7. If Stan was playing now, he would have had a much better chance of a long career....he needed protection from referees from the hatchet men of the era and at that time, it was sporadic at best......still gave me two of my fondest memories....tormenting the two Chelsea centrebacks, Droy and Wicks skating over the mud while they lumbered after him....7-2 with even the BBC admitting we were slightly better than the Blues........and then a while later, running half the length of the pitch to score in a 4-2 win at St. James Park...............sigh..............we have had some spuds, but he was one

  8. Been a member since August & now getting use to the format & layout of oneboro & must say, what an excellent & well structured forum it is I'd never heard of oneboro till it was recently mentioned on FMTTM, found the forum & registeted I still post on FMTTM, as I enjoy the banter, I've been posting on flyme probably forever, there are some great posters, who are passionate & cover every topic under the sun, posters who will go out of their way to help each other Oneboro is totally different in that the forum seems to be more professionally laid out, with

  9. I don't have a soft spot for him. I wasn't convinced when we bought him unlike most on here and I rated Bamford as the better player as I also said repeatedly on the forum, preferring to keep him and sell Assombalonga if I had a choice. But he is the best we have right now and it's not even close. We have a big problem with goal scoring within the rest of the team but he's the one taking the flak for that as well, which is just nonsense. The other players aren't missing chances because of anything he does. Wing and McNair have had almost the same number of shots as Assombalonga this

I think it'll just be an error on the writer's part, but I'm expecting McNair to move on anyway.

Something picked up on in the announcement. A Freudian slip or an oversight on McNair's part? "The 24-year-old extends his stay on Teesside until 2027 and, after Dael Fry and Jonny Howson, he is the club’s longest serving senior player currently in the dressing room." McNair would be ahead of Jones having joined the year prior. And it surely isn't related to injuries as Fry is also out. Seems strange to mention it and not to check. Not that it will come as much of a surprise to anyone that McNair is leaving. And given the contracts have started being handed out, it perhaps alludes to the club switching focus to next season already. Sure Carrick has said in the past that they wouldn't worry about them until the summer.

Club taking character into account along with ability as they believe that harmony in squad very important so if they think someone could be a disruptive force, they will avoid. You can be certain that Dieng will have been asked about Willock and Chair and the fact that they are still with QPR tells you other clubs have reservations. European signings viewed as mostly successful so we can take it for a fact that we will be in the market if the right people are available

Think injuries haven’t helped Jones this season. Hopefully we will see a better version next season if he stays fit
