If this were a film this is right where the narrator would say: 'Little did he know, things could get much worse...'4 points

One of the best additions to the Forum for a long time, thanks Erimus for bringing back so many memories, really enjoy your posts, absolutely excellent. I hope some of our younger forum members take time to read these, it's all about the history of the club, the good times and the bad and is what makes us who we are. Pure brilliant stuff!2 points

The lengths people go to so that they don't have to watch the Boro..2 points

The club only appealed to deflect attention away from a disgraceful incident and avoid answering awkward questions at the time.2 points

Hi, I'm pleased to announce oneBoro Dark Mode, bringing the dark mode functionality from operating systems to the oneBoro Forum. If you have a compatible iOS, Android, MacOS or Windows device, when in Dark Mode the oneBoro Forum will take into account this preference. I'm looking for some users to test this out initially, before rolling out fully to the forum. If you're interested in testing this, either reply below or send me a private message. Hope you like this feature! Cheers1 point

Some excellent nostalgia on this thread. Always nice to remember past seasons and reflect on the ups and downs of being a Boro fan, our past is what makes us who we are today. Lovely stuff.1 point

Brilliant! 👍 I hate white screens as the glare hurts my eyes after a while. I always use dark mode on Twitter and other forums (where available). Just need the BBC to introduce a dark mode for their site.1 point

Michael O'Neill is sick and could miss the match tomorrow. Every little helps.1 point

I'm going for 2-2 for this game (yes we will score 2!). Just think both teams have struggles but it's a Friday night home game so hopefully that spurs us on. I think Britt & Fletcher starting upfront is likely as he was nearing fitness last week. Can see the 5th minute support for Leo being an emotional one for him and is a nice touch on his horrendous anniversary... Let's reward him with a goal in the same minute 😥1 point

Great OP! To get the sack, I think Woodgate would have to have us mid-table in League One. Much as I'd love to see Chris Hughton rolling up to the Riverside on Sky Sports News, Gibson seems reluctant to acknowledge his mistakes - of which appointing Woodgate is an absolute whopper. And I reckon Leo is due a red card. He'll probably lamp someone on the Stoke bench after protests about Ayala clotheslining a striker in our box. This is one of those games where the result could be absolutely anything. It's impossible to predict, so I'll say we'll lose 2-1 in the hope Fate decides to1 point

Been told today that young Ste Walker is starting on Friday night so will be interesting to see how he gets on.1 point

I still don't think we've seen enough of him, he's not played much more than 4.5 games worth of minutes in the league across 13 appearances. He's never done a full 90, 80 minutes against Preston was the closest he's come, 57 minutes before that, meaning a third of his game-time came across 2 games. Across the games I've seen him, including the final pre-season friendly, he's direct, he's got a trick in him and he's relatively quick. Not quick enough to get beyond some full-backs but relatively quick. His decision making is about as good as you'd expect a young lad's to be, he rarely gets1 point

I wonder if there's a rule in the FA laws of the game that says players can't have implants? Kim Kardashian's *** would be a great shot-stopper, which is ironic considering she's been the cause of many unclean sheets over the years. Actually, player implants probably aren't banned, because I'm pretty sure Lee Tomlin had a stomach implant for a while.1 point

I don’t get this one at all. The player is an adult who should know his own body and should have his own mind. If he wasn’t fit he shouldn’t have played. How the club can “force” an injured player to play is beyond me. And if it is the “obvious” one he is always injured so no way did he get pushed into playing against his will or he wouldn’t spend eternity in the treatment room. He would be forced to play more often surely?1 point

The possibility that Gibbo is gradually winding things up in preparation for administration has occurred to me. I've been trying to push the thought away since the summer. There has been a lot of "woe is me, I've been doing everything by the rules and all these other mean clubs are cheating and making it impossible for us to compete financially" stuff coming out since last Spring. If he spins a good enough tale then a lot of fans will still see him as a hero for saving the club in 86 and giving them all these extra years. We get annoyed on here about all the lies and spin which come out of the1 point

You can't judge any player on 1 game. Pears actually made a good double save when Swansea were only ahead by the penalty. He's also made good saves in other recent games. Check the highlights of the Charlton & Burnley games. But he's young, inexperienced and will make more mistakes than you'd expect from older players. Also, in fairness, its not like he's getting a lot of help from our defence.1 point

Were just so so poor this season man. Scary part is I can actually see it getting worse before it gets better. I'm still largely of the opinion that our recent performances were fluke rather than anything particularly special. Such horrific horrific discipline1 point

Chance for some kids to sit on the bench next week, whilst Clayton wipes out every opposition player.1 point

Absolute shocking display of discipline, I'm all for protecting players but 3 straight cards this season that have cost us points. What is happening!1 point
-
Well they've let the club & fans down, especially the ones who travelled to the game, Browns reckless tackle & now McNair, an important player we will really miss for 3 games, elbowing someone We can all get angry, you have to be more professional & disciplined1 point

If we don't stop the rot very soon then we could easily end up like Sunderland. That's why giving Warnock half a season to get us clear of the relegation zone and sort out some of the mess here isn't the most abhorrent thought, though only because of the mess that we're in. We have no intelligence from Gibson and co to be able to implement any sort of successful, winning with style philosophy. We're a shambles of a club. The successful period under Karanka feels an absolute fluke for the club to have go it right for once.1 point

So I've got it on pretty good authority he's been up and helping with training for a while now.0 points

Was just about to post the same thing. I didn't finish the second series of AWP but I remember that was the key storyline - they were selling the Transporter Bridge overseas - America IIRC. -

I don't even think people have realised the Lion is that different, tbh, it's the rest of the badge people are focusing on as it's the biggest departure from what we have. It's definitely a lot more minimal but the shape and facing is much the same. It's like it's just had a trim for the first time in 50 years. I'm sure there's a way of working the proper Lion into that kind of badge anyway.

I'm really surprised so many people seem happy to ditch our Lion in favour of the one shown in that design.
