  1. its very rare i get info regarding transfers in or out and also rare that i post in this section nowdays as you can be left open to ridicule or worse. however theres a few bits ive been told that i,ll pass on. west ham ARE monitoring randolph as a back up option to fabianski, and WE ARE QUITE FAR ALONG IN BRINGING A CURRENT lEEDS STRIKER IN ,IN JANUARY. BAD NEWS .....ITS NOT Bamford good news...ITS NOT GROT EITHER THE NAME IVE BEN GIVEN IS TYLER ROBERTS GIVEN THAT INFO I WOULD ASSUME britt may be moved on if a reasonable bid was recieved. also ,re ben gibs

  2. Interesting tweet from the ponce... tends to know bits and pieces. "The club aren’t seeking a replacement for Bevington because Kenyon is back in the fold. Expect to see him in that stands again I’m the next few weeks ..." What a coup it would be to get Kenyon as a dof style figure.

  3. When looking at how we have performed and how we have improved we need to look at the 4 phases of play. 1) Without the ball. We have really improved in this, other than the Leeds match. We look organised and strong in the middle. Pears is pretty unflappable, Howson, Ayala and Fry look strong, even though Fry isn't playing at his best. We still have Shotton and Friend to return also 2) With the ball, this is the area that most fans expected us to be strong this year, playing an expansive and attacking game. But we just don't have the players to do this. Since Woodgate became mo

  4. I'm really happy to see him finally put it all together. The lad deserves it. I'm just happy we got to witness him, even if it was in his raw form.

  5. Really enjoyed yesterday, bit scrappy but Woody is slowly dragging us away from the danger zone, now level with Derby who were well ahead of us not long ago & above the Cowley brothers, who many wanted at the Boro Onwards & upwards Boro West stand Ticket's courtesy of oneboro 👍

  6. We've told Clayton he can go already. His agent has been looking for a new club for him for weeks now

  8. Agreed on this. I think right now would be the best time to invest in us. We have 6 months left of having a squad full of high earners and then suddenly most of that expenditure will be gone and we have the ability to start again. We have still got an incredible academy, a good sized stadium, a good capture area for fans who will come if the club has success again. Our staff are all on minimum wages so can be replaced with little fuss or cost. Were coming very very close to being a blank slate in the championship with a hell of a lot of potential. That's gotta be attractive for an investor.

  11. Coulson has signed a new contract till 2023. Just need to lockdown Ayala, Howson and probably Spence now.

  14. Lol. Dont go p*ssing on my bonfire please, Denzel. On a serious note I can live with Randolph leaving (partly because i accepted he was leaving a month or so ago) but hope others stay. If we get Ayala on a new contract in January i will be ecstatic.

  15. Well said... if an investor comes in and gets us promoted and stable in the prem then the club becomes self sufficient it's that simple

  16. Ayala hasn’t fallen off whatsoever this season - has been as solid as ever on the whole. Howson has been far more solid than Fry at CB and he’s a CM! Cannot put the blame on Woody for Fry’s below par performances when those around him are stepping up.

  17. I wouldn't mind to sell Fry for good money .. He has potential, but this season he has lacked a lot of determination... Looks like he is just trying to do a job somehow.. not really wanting it .. If he had the spark of Ayala, that would help .. It feels like he is too kind/soft/help me find the right word... 😉 Ayala is the one I would go far to keep! He is very important as a captain atm. Randolph is great, but if he can bring in money to get what is more needed, then so be it .. Rather have Pears in goal and 3 new players attacking, than Randz in goal and ste Walker as a starter. The

  18. Really happy with the players @Smoggydownsouth is naming as potential signings. A corner has definitely been turned over the past couple months on the pitch, credit where it's due to Woody for bringing through the younger lads and finding a shape that seems to be working. Seems like losing Randolph is a necessary evil but Pears has done a job so far and we have Mejias as cover so i'm not too concerned. If we lose Britt we need to replace him (Nketiah would be an improvement imo). Fry would be a loss but he hasn't been anywhere near his best this season. Again, perhaps selling is another

  19. I don’t think we should worry about them two staying. They are just breaking into pro football and it would be madness for them to leave now. If we can stay clear of relegation they can develop here without any pressure.

  21. Mentioned on the other match day thread, Mr Geoff Eltringham is the ref for this one wholl be better known as the Sunderland supporting ref who controversially didn't give us a pen against Fulham in our 1-0 loss. Never reffed us since so will be interesting to see how it goes. Not expecting anything from this a draw will be absolutely class but you never know, if things go in our favour it could just work out. (he says more out of hope than expectation)

  22. A free hit for boro, really. If we get anything out of this game at all it will be a huge positive.

  23. Bloody hell BU! You just keep getting better with these song parodies. 😂 Sadly I think we'd better make the most of it, as it may be a few games before we hear another one. West Brom are top of the table for a good reason - they've lost only once in 24 games and have a very healthy GD. The one silver lining in this otherwise dark thundercloud is that they have drawn 3 of their last 5 games (guess that counts as a bit of a wobble for them). IF Boro can somehow muster a disciplined performance AND if the Baggies are having an off day, we MIGHT get away with a draw. But thats real

  24. I actually thought the same about there being glimpses of traore with Spence. Obviously not as physical and powerful, but he does have a knack of getting round people and still having the ball at the other side

  25. He reminds me a bit of Traore...someone who isn't afraid to have a go, get forward and take on opponents. Really hoping we can hang on to him and Coulson for a little while, at least.

  26. Difference is that Randolph is first choice for his country and is proud to be so. If the Republic should qualify for the Euros with two group games at home he will want to be there. So being a first choice for his club is important to him

  28. feel like the tide has turned now. Hopefully we can come through the next couple of tough games without suffering heavy losses. The crowd gradually seems to be getting back onside with the team. Died Spence. Bloody hell. He's got that x factor we've missed. You can feel the crowd get energized when he gets the ball.

  32. Credit to the players AND Woodgate screw philosophy talk we needed a strong couple of home games and 2 clean sheets 6 points I couldn't be happier. Have to say on Djed I'm really glad he's starting to keep his concentration the only slight he ever had against him was he was prone to switching off but the past 2 games he's really done well. Interested to see how Dijksteel and Bola react in the next few weeks I'd peg neither as first choice but it was always in/out now i think they're Spence/Coulsons shirts now. Well chuffed with the past week's efforts by the team and young lads getting be

  35. A friend sent me this, I think its from some Charlton fan on Twitter. They were using it to show how unsustainable their goalscoring was (very high chance conversion, very low chance creation) but at the other end of the table there is massive room for improvement for Boro. Start scoring some of those chances and the points will come.

Questions -   What team would you pick? Dieng Jones McNair VDB Clarke Bangura O’Brien Azaz Howson Latte Lath Silvera   What's your favourite thing about Leeds? The countryside that surrounds it. I’ve got family in Rawdon and Yeadon and it’s beautiful around those parts   What are the odds on Bamford cheating yet again? It’s odd because he never cheated when he played for us! 👀   Will we derail their promotion push even further? I’d like them to go up, I hate playing them, but I bet we draw with them.

Nothing in it for us except help prevent Leeds getting into an automatic spot.

The issue isn't playing out from the back, the issue is decision making on when, where and how.  If the opponents are closing, down, swarming and pressurising it can be effective by unlocking them and catching them up field however it is also far more likely to result in being bullied out of possession, putting us at risk or as we seen recently a poor ball to O'Brien leaving us stuffed. Having outlets making and creating space and time is crucial whether you play out from the back or go long. Simply hoofing it isn't the answer any more than playing a suicide ball to a player being rapidly closed down 20 yards out from our own goal. It's not the tactic that's at fault, it's the application and implementation of it which comes down to the skill, intelligence, awareness and ability of individuals. Chuba was great at holding the ball up and playing in team mates, we don't have that skill set this season and it's showed, having a Giles to be unleashed down the left hasn't been available this season, both were key to how we played last season. The loss of those outlets haven't helped us and those are just two examples. That said with the speed of Jones and ELL, playing it long can also be a serious threat to our opposition but neither tactic will work if players aren't looking up, alert and aware of their next pass/movement and to me that is the biggest difference between last season's passing it out from the back and this season. We passed out at speed and with cutting accuracy last season, this year we seem less confident, hesitant, slow and have created more problems for ourselves on many occasions because of it.  The massive summer upheaval in personnel hasn't helped and confidence and belief won't have helped with the start to the season that ensued. I'm sure many of the new signings were less than convinced as we set that record poor start statistic. Over time it's improved but nowhere close to our ability to pass out that we had last season, hence the frustrations and discussions.

I'd quite happily take a draw now, it keeps them down, keeps the unbeaten run going and keeps things very interesting in the promotion race.
