Fletcher/Pears/Wing/Tav/Spence/Ayala/Coulson/Clayton have been outstanding in this run the youngsters grow by the game. It's so important we put those points on the board and from a very dangerous position vs Charlton Woodgate's turned it around hugely credit to him as well like the youngsters he was thrown sink or swim in this period and has thankfully swam. Proudest I've been of Boro in 4 years, this post-Charlton run's been mighty impressive we go into a window with breathing room and youngsters holding down shirts, it's a hell of a turnaround it feels good and as someone not awed by a8 points

Not a single bad performance out there today, I genuinely think I'd give everyone a 10/10 today. That was excellent. To limit them to ONE grade A how's-that-not-a-goal chance all game (maybe 2 if you count that diving header) at a team that has scored more than TWICE AS MANY goals as us is incredible. AND it's not like they missed that one chance either, Pears pulled off a Darren Randolphesque save to keep it out. Woodgate got the formation, the tactics, the style, everything spot on.6 points

Best game I have seen for a long time by Boro, there are signs that these young lads are starting to knit together as a team. Big credit to Woodgate this time round, and to the players just thanks for giving me optimism for the New Year. My first live viewing of Boro this season and I am shocked, so much energy, belief, attacking intention, what the hell has happened. In all honesty I am only at the Hawthornes because somebody leant me their season ticket and I wasn't expecting us to compete like this. Coulson Spence, Tavernier have made WBA look like the side fighting relegation. Can we keep this up, what a boost that would be4 points

Saville alone has forced two really nice saves from the keeper. Not flashy ones but really solid strikes. We are all over them, not a single poor performance out there for me in that half. Everyone was exceptional.4 points

I have just got home from the game and what a fantastic result. To say I am buzzing would be an understatement. It reminded me of the away days under the Karanka era. Really was such an enjoyable day. I totally get the views of those who say do not change the team v Preston but I am also concerned that I think about 9 of our players could be asked to play 4 games in 12 days and really don’t want anyone to pick up any muscular injuries that could rule them out. Therefore if there a chance to rest 1 or 2 players given the return of Paddy n hopefully Britt I would use it. Ash Fletcher h3 points

Oh my god what the hell has just happened? I'm on a bus back from Newcastle giving it full fist pumps and all sorts holy sh1t. My love for the club has come back and I cannot believe how much different we now look compared to this time last month what on earth has happened. That is such a fantastic unbelievable result against a top top team. All of those lads out there deserve that result. Simple as. Get in there you little beauties.3 points

Either way, it's a nice dilemma for Woodgate to have. I probably wouldn't bring the senior players straight back in, because a team that beats the league's best side in their own manor will be full of confidence. And ultimately football is all about confidence. I'd keep the same starting XI and strengthen the bench. Imagine the opposition players looking over to the touchline after 60 minutes of being torn open down the wings and seeing players like Britt and McNair warming up (assuming Britt is staying, though I agree with previous posters that we could probably replace him with a cheape2 points

We're in that tricky position now where on paper the players coming back are better but should they automatically start? I don't think they should. Get them on the bench and make them work their way back in.2 points

I think thats easy to say just because our good form has coincided with him being out. However, and much more importantly, its coincided along with the emergence of Coulson and spence. Weve spent the best part of 4 years now without any threat from our wide areas. Weve been dull, predictable and one dimensional always trying to play through the middle. Now that we have that were a different prospect. In addition, tav deserves a lot of praise. Hes beginning to really put his mark on games and making us tick. Hell be a massive player for years to come if we keep hold of him. Before britt w2 points

In our last 12 games (starting 23rd oct) weve won 5, drawn 4 and lost only 3. From where we were before that, its absolutely the last couple of months he deserves credit for.2 points

In short, first half we completely controlled the game. They had a touch more possession but did nothing with it. We looked comfortable. Second half, they upped the ante, but even then they created one good chance in that second half only for Pears to pull another save out his bag of tricks. He was pushing it with the time wasting but got away with it. 10/10s all over the board.2 points

What a rush! God, I have missed that! Britt is NOT missed ... We are so much better, when we attack the flanks and press the middle .. And it's actually good to have Rudy to put on, to make their defenders work even harder at the end of the game .. Givs us SO much space in the beginning of their third .. ! Saville was in my top 3 today with Wing and coulson .. But the team was immense .. Everybody did so well and my God Pears is growing .. ( on trees apparantly - dad joke)2 points

Hackney hasn't been in the squad the last two games after making a fleeting appearance on the bench a couple of weeks ago. He's not ready to start a game. I think it'll be mcnair in for ayling like you say but I reckon vdb starts at right back like early on in the season. The rest will be unchanged but with greenwood in for silvera. -

If Dijksteel does not start this, then the writing really is on the wall for him, if its jot already anyway. I actually don't think he will start. I think Paddy will come in and we will change to a wing back system with Jones and Engel - which will say a lot about what MC thinks of Dijksteel in not trusting him at RB or as a 3rd CB (he played his best football there for us) Also would not be surprised to see Hackney replace Greenwood and plsy in an advanced role but rather Silveria or Gilbert there: Dieng Paddy VDB Clarke Jones Howson O'Brien Engel Silveria LL Azaz
